Exciting New Project for Friends of Landon

Friends of Landon is a 501c(3) non-profit organization led by Landon parents, faculty and alumni. Its  mission is to equip the students of JLCP for a lifetime of academic and leadership success. Our values include promoting collaborative, hands-on learning with technology as an enabler of -- and not a substitute to -- experiential learning.

For the last 3 years, Friends of Landon has worked with JLCP to focus on reviving and modernizing the Learning Commons. Thanks to administration's commitment, your generosity and Ms. Mayer's many talents, the former Media Center (closed for many years prior to the 2017-18 school year), has been completely transformed into a modern Learning Commons.

It's now time to pivot in a new direction. We hope you will join us in working toward our new goal of revitalizing the central courtyard into a safe, inviting outdoor space which can be used by teachers and students. This project will require the support of DCPS to improve safety and infrastructure and many talented hands to improve and execute enhancing its function and aesthetics. We believe we can make a difference with your help.

More information to come as we prepare for the 2019 fundraising drive...stay tuned!

Friends of Landon Makes Goal for 2018!!!

We are excited to announce that a generous donor has stepped up to fill the gap between funds raised in March and the $15K fundraising goal.  As a result, the original goal-attaining reward - an epic Lip Sync Battle among teachers and staff -- has been scheduled as a FREE event.

On Friday June 1 at 10 AM in the auditorium our teachers and staff will entertain the students with their talents.  Families are welcomed to attend as room allows.  This will surely be a standing room only event.

2018 FUNdraising Goals Set

Friends of Landon will hold its second annual FUNdraiser the week of March 5, 2018.  Donation envelopes will be distributed to students the week prior.  Have your child return your family's donation to school during the week, or drop it off in the morning carpool line.

Your student can also participate in a Grade Level Competition for loose change by bring in coin donations at lunch period for the Penny Wars event.

There will be Grade Level awards for each class which meets its $5,000 goal.  If Friends of Landon is successful in raising $15,000, there will be an EPIC LIP SYNCH BATTLE among the staff for the entire school!
